A man has been charged with producing Class B drugs after officers located a cannabis farm during Operation Artemis.

Officers discovered 29 cannabis plants with an estimated value of £24,000 at an address on Hewley Street in Normanby last week.

The 29-year-old man appeared in court and was bailed with conditions.

Cleveland Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen a man acting suspiciously in the Denham Green area of Middlesbrough on Saturday evening.

The male is described as white, in his twenties with dark hair.

He was wearing a black jumper, black jogging bottoms & black boots.

He is believed to have a mole on his face next to his nose.

If you saw anything suspicious you are asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.

A war hero from our area who died in tragic circumstances has finally been given a gravestone  – nearly 75 years after his death.

Flt-Lt Robert Wilson from Redcar was one of six RAF men who were killed in our region’s worst air disaster in 1949 at what was then Middleton St George Aerodrome, between Stockton and Darlington, now the site of Teesside Airport.

After being contacted by local organisation 'Friends of Redcar Cemetery', council officers confirmed he was buried at Redcar Cemetery but never had his own headstone.

The Friends then raised money, sought permission from the family and had the stone made.

The unveiling of Flt-Lt Wilson's headstone took place in the cemetery on Saturday morning following a military parade.
