Police are appealing to trace a child after a report was made to officers of a robbery by a member of the public.
A report was made that a male child possibly around 10-15 years old was approached by a male who produced a knife and took a bottle of water from the child.
The incident happened around ten to eight on Thursday morning on Ormesby Road near to Unity City Academy close to the TAD Centre. (pron "tad" - not an acronym)
Officers are appealing to locate the child in order to check on his welfare and speak to him about the reported incident.
A 39-year-old man has been charged with possession of a knife in a public place and possession of an offensive weapon.
He appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court yesterday.
Anyone with information regarding the identity of the child is asked to contact Redcar and Cleveland CID on the non-emergency number 101.
A 29-year-old man has been charged with producing Class B drugs after officers located a cannabis farm during Operation Artemis on Tuesday.
Officers discovered 29 cannabis plants with an estimated value of £24,000 at an address on Hewley Street in Normanby.
The man appeared in court and was bailed with conditions.
A war hero from our area who died in tragic circumstances will finally have a gravestone today – nearly 75 years after his death.
Flt-Lt Robert Wilson from Redcar was one of six RAF men who were killed in our region’s worst air disaster in 1949 at what was then Middleton St George Aerodrome, between Stockton and Darlington, now the site of Teesside Airport.
After being contacted by local organisation 'Friends of Redcar Cemetery', council officers confirmed he was buried at Redcar Cemetery but never had his own headstone.
The Friends then raised money, sought permission from the family and had the stone made.
The unveiling of Flt-Lt Wilson's headstone will take place in the cemetery at 10.30 this morning following a military parade.
Members of the public are invited to attend.
