Police are appealing for information after a burglary at the home of an elderly woman during the hours of darkness;

Police are appealing for information after a burglary at the home of an elderly woman during the hours of darkness.

The incident happened on Friday into Saturday on Dunsley Court in Guisborough.

The woman awoke on Saturday morning to find her property had been broken into overnight and items stolen whilst she had been asleep, including a quantity of cash and a small black purse containing bank cards.

Anyone who may have information or any CCTV in the area of Dunsley Court is asked to contact Redcar and Cleveland CID on the non-emergency number 101.

 

Emergency services were called to the scene of a collision in our area yesterday afternoon.

Just after 4.30pm yesterday, officers from Cleveland and North Yorkshire Police were called to the scene of a collision on the A173 at Pinchinthorpe.

The road was closed for over an hour whilst emergency crews dealt with the incident and recovered the vehicles involved.

The road reopened shortly before 6.30pm.

 

Students from Redcar and Cleveland College have been recognising their success at their annual Celebration of Achievement Awards Ceremony.

The event, which took place at the college yesterday evening, highlights the success and accomplishments of students from across the college with all nominees carefully selected for their hard work, effort and commitment.

The winner of the 'Student of the Year' award was Emily Hall, who spoke to Zetland FM about how she felt at winning the award.
