Two men have been arrested after a trials bike was stolen at knifepoint in our area.
Police received a report that a trials bike had been snatched from a back garden in Grangetown, with officers later seeing it and launching a pursuit.
After being followed along the Trunk Road, A66, and Cargo Fleet Lane areas, the bike was recovered after two men fled the scene.
An area search was undertaken by the force, which received assistance from police drone operators, and two men, both aged 20, were detained and arrested on suspicion of robbery.
One of the men - who was wanted by police - was recalled to prison.
Emergency services were called to the beach at Marske yesterday evening after an HGV drove onto the beach and became stuck in the sand.
The vehicle drove down the slipway which leads to the beach, and onto the sand, with photos on social media showing the HGV facing towards the sea with its wheels buried.
It is not yet clear why the HGV had been driven onto the beach.
It is understood that the vehicle was eventually towed off the beach by a specialist heavy breakdown truck using a rope.
An accident on a busy road in our area caused traffic issues close to a local school yesterday.
A two vehicle collision happened on Stainton Way near King’s Academy in Coulby Newham just after 8.30am yesterday, and involved an Audi A4 and a Citroen DS3.
This led to a build up of traffic while emergency services attended to deal with the situation.
The North East Ambulance Service has confirmed that a woman was taken to James Cook University Hospital following the crash.
The extent of her injuries remains unclear.
