The volunteers of the Redcar RNLI lifeboat were called into action in our area yesterday.
Just before five to one yesterday lunchtime, the D Class lifeboat was launched following reports of person in the water near to the Redcar Beacon.
On arriving at the scene, the crew did not find anyone in the water, and the sighting is believed to have been of a Hi Viz lobster pot marker.
Members of the public are reminded that if you see something you think may be a person in trouble in the water you should ring 999 and ask for the Coastgaurd.
Cleveland Police are warning the public of the dangers of unlicensed tattooists, following a recent case where a customer contracted a serious infection as a result of unhygienic equipment.
Officers are urging people to check the Body Art register prior to visiting a tattooist.
If you are still unsure whether they are registered, you can check with your local council.
If you have concerns that you may have been tattooed in unhygienic conditions, or have symptoms of infection after getting a tattoo, please seek medical attention immediately and report concerns to your local council.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council are seeking residents views on library services in Loftus.
Loftus Library is set to be demolished this autumn and winter with the library service moving to Duncan Place in the town.
It is planned that the original library site will be used for much-needed parking bays in the town centre.
Proposals include a two-level car park providing 30 parking bays, including four disabled bays.
A small section of the car park will be landscaped with a foldable bench area.
The upper section will have an area for motorcycles and bicycles.
If you have questions about the development you can visit Loftus Library tomorrow between 3pm and 6pm where people will be able to ask any questions.
You can also get more information on the Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council website.
