Four teenage boys have been arrested after reports of vehicles being stolen over the weekend.

Two 17-year-olds have been charged in connection with the theft of a red scooter which had been left outside Sainsbury's in Saltburn on Saturday afternoon.

The scooter was seen later in the Redcar area by Cleveland Police Special Operations Unit officers and the lads were arrested, interviewed and subsequently charged with theft of motor vehicle.

One was also charged with driving whilst disqualified and with driving with no insurance, and the scooter was recovered by police.

And a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old were arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle after a Fiesta was reported stolen from a driveway on Nightingale Road, Eston, on Saturday evening.

They were interviewed and bailed.

The Fiesta has also been recovered and enquiries are on-going.
