Police are continuing to appeal for information regarding a stolen van, as valuable surf boards from the van were recovered with assistance from the public;

Two men have been arrested after a suspected stolen vehicle was spotted by police in Middlesbrough;

...and work has started on the installation of new play equipment at Borough Park, near to Redcar cemetery.

 

Police are continuing to appeal for information regarding a stolen van, as valuable surf boards from the van were recovered with assistance from the public.

The surf boards had been in kept a white Transit van which was stolen from an address in The Chine, Saltburn, overnight last Sunday into Monday.

The van, which has solar panels on the roof, remains outstanding and police continue to appeal for information to trace it.

With assistance from members of the public, the surf boards have now been recovered and returned to their owner.

Anyone with information regarding the current whereabouts of the van or the theft is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.

 

Two men have been arrested after a suspected stolen vehicle was spotted by police in Middlesbrough.

Officers sighted the suspected stolen Fiat, which was reported stolen in the West Yorkshire area, on Linthorpe Road around 8:40pm on Thursday.

The vehicle made off and was followed by officers before two males got out of the car and made off on foot.

A police drone was deployed to assist with the search and two men were located and arrested.

 

Work has started on the installation of new play equipment at Borough Park, near to Redcar cemetery.  

Work includes installation of an accessible roundabout, a ‘me to you’ swing and upgrading of the playground floor.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council say that the park will be closed for approximately two weeks to allow work to progress

The council has thanked residents for their patience during this time.

The closest alternative parks are Zetland Park and Locke Park.
