Police are appealing for the public's help after a football shirt was stolen in a burglary.

The incident happened in the early hours of Friday at the Sports Village at Marton.

The shirt has significant sentimental value to its owner. 

Anyone who may have information regarding the burglary or the whereabouts of the shirt, is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.

Officers are appealing to identify a man after a report of a robbery in Middlesbrough.

The incident happened around 3:15am on Sunday 12th February outside Cineworld on Marton Road.

A man approached a woman from behind and snatched a necklace from around her neck, before making off on foot.

The suspect is described as aged in his early twenties, 5ft 5" tall, of slim build with a mixed accent.

Anyone with information regarding the man's identity is asked to contact police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

A former bookshop in Saltburn could be turned into a restaurant and hotel if plans are approved for conversion work.

A planning application has been lodged with Redcar and Cleveland Council to transform the property on Amber Street, which was formerly known as the 'Saltburn Bookshop'.

The three storey building will have a bar, restaurant and hotel reception on the ground floor with five en suite bedrooms spread out across the two upper floors, according to the planning documents.

A basement area will also be created with storage as well as toilets for the bar and restaurant customers.

The public consultation end date for the planning proposals is May 6th.
