A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after his bike collided with a car on a busy road.
Emergency services were called to the scene of a two vehicle crash on Normanby Road in Eston just after 12.30 yesterday lunchtime.
An air ambulance landed on St Peter's Catholic College field as collision investigators carried out enquiries.
Two emergency ambulances, one clinical team lead, and one rapid response paramedic attended the scene.
They transported the biker to James Cook University Hospital, where the extent of his injuries are not yet know.
Members of the public are being warned that loud bangs will be heard this week when the final structures related to the Redcar Blast Furnace are brought down.
Tomorrow at around 9.30am, crews will be conducting an explosive demolition of stoves one to four of the Redcar Blast Furnace on the Teesworks site.
These are the final structures related to the Redcar Blast Furnace to be brought down, after its main demolition in November.
This will involve multiple simultaneous explosions to bring the 40m tall structures to the ground.
A short section of the Gare Road will be closed from 8.30am to 10am tomorrow, but disruption to the surrounding area will be kept to a minimum.
The Tees Valley Combined Authority has apologised for any inconvenience and would like to thank the community in advance for their understanding.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council have revealed that Redcar boating lake is once again to be filled with water.
Having emptied the boating lake as part of their routine maintenance programme, the council says they have taken the opportunity to replace a few faulty parts, including the pump and motor, which helps fill the lake with water.
The water has to be pumped into the lake during high tides in excess of 5.4 metres, and because the lake needs filling up by several feet, it is expected that more than one tide will be required to fill it.
However a high tide is expected this week, which should mean that there will be water back in the boating lake very soon.
