The volunteer crew of the Redcar RNLI lifeboats were called into action in our area yesterday.

Just after 5pm yesterday afternoon, both Redcar lifeboats were launched in response to reports of a person reported to have been cut off by the tide between Saltburn and Skinningrove.

The person was located safe at Skinningrove a short time later.

Both lifeboats were then able to return to the lifeboat station at Redcar.

Police are urging members of the public to send in any images or footage of off-road bikes being ridden illegally in our area.

As the weather improves over the coming months and reports of the use of illegal off-road bikes potentially increases, officers are encouraging members of the public to submit footage and images as part of their intelligence gathering process, so that police can look to seize the vehicles and take appropriate action.

Anyone with information regarding off-road bikes, where they are being stored or anyone using them illegally can call Cleveland Police on 101 or go to Crimestoppers online at crimestoppers-uk.org.

The Annual Redcar and Cleveland Inspiring Women Awards have taken place.

The awards have been running annually since 2015, and were first set up in memory of former Redcar MP Mo Mowlam.

This year's event took place in the Bellamy Pavilion at Kirkleatham Museum, and recognised the achievements of many inspiring women from our area.

Zetland FM was proud to sponsor the ‘Julie Donaldson Volunteer Award’ which this year was presented to Anna Liddle for her inspirational work with Saltburn Skatepark.

Theresa Cave received the Mo Mowlem Lifetime Achievement Award for her work with local knife-crime charity 'The Chris Cave Foundation'.
