Emergency services were called to a busy junction in our area after a collision involving a fire engine and a taxi.

Cleveland Fire Brigade has confirmed an internal investigation is ongoing following the crash, which occurred while a crew from Coulby Newham were responding to an incident.

The collision happened at the junction of Marton Road and Ladgate Lane, near Stewart Park, at around 7.45pm on Friday.

No-one was taken to hospital or suffered serious injuries in the crash.

Paramedics gave treatment to two patients for minor injuries at the scene.

A teenage boy has been taken to hospital after being assaulted in Redcar.

A cordon was erected after police and paramedics were called to a private address on Micklow Close.

Witnesses described how a number of police vehicles were present at the scene, which is near Redcar Primary Care Hospital.

Officers were called to the scene just after 10.30 on Sunday morning and remained there until shortly before 2pm, with the North East Ambulance Service confirming it took one patient to hospital.

The force has now confirmed the ambulance crews were treating a boy, 17, who had been assaulted.

The condition of the boy is currently unknown.

A prolific poacher from Redcar has had his sentence increased on appeal.

Ryan Thomas Spence became the first offender in North Yorkshire to be given a Criminal Behaviour Order for hare coursing offences last year.

The 33-year-old appealed his sentence at York Crown Court.

However not only was the original sentence upheld, his driving ban was increased from six months to two years and will now run from February 23, 2023.
