...and drivers are once again being reminded to store digital keyfobs securely after a spate of 'keyless' thefts of cars, vans and motorbikes in our area.

 

Emergency services were called to a medical incident in our area yesterday.

Police and paramedics were dispatched to Ruby Street, in Saltburn, at around 10am yesterday morning.

Officers were spotted exiting a property which is located near to the junction with Marine Parade. Officers appeared to be holding evidence bags, as well as a supermarket carrier bag, and placed them into the police van.

The North East Ambulance Service say they received a call just before 10am yesterdat morning to a medical incident at a private address on Ruby Street in Saltburn and sent two resources to the scene.

Paramedics reportedly left Ruby Street just before 11am and Cleveland Police left the scene at 11.10am.

 

The volunteers of the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team were called into action in our area yesterday.

The team were asked to go to the aid of a man who had sustained a serious leg injury whilst walking along the Cleveland Way just west of Wain Stones, about 2-miles south of Great Broughton.

Two double-crewed team Land Rovers were sent from our Base whilst other members made their own way to the area.

After being given strong pain relief teh casualties leg was splinted and he was then lifted onto a mountain rescue stretcher and packaged within a casualty bag to keep warm. 

He was then carried downhill and loaded into one of the Land Rovers before being transported to a waiting ambulance for onward treatment at hospital.

 

Drivers are once again being reminded to store digital keyfobs securely after a spate of 'keyless' thefts of cars, vans and motorbikes in our area.

Kirkleatham ward and West Dyke ward have been particularly affected, as well as nearby Dormanstown and Eston.

A range of vehicles including Fords, Vauxhalls, Audis and Land Rovers and Range Rovers have been targeted – predominantly during the hours of darkness from around 6pm and overnight.

Police say targeted extra patrols are taking place and a number of the vehicles stolen have been recovered, with suspects identified and arrested in several cases with enquiries on-going.
