Emergency services were called to Redcar seafront yesterday morning after reports of a man's body in the sea.
Cleveland Police and the North East Ambulance Service attended the beach just before 8am yesterday morning after a call from a concerned member of the public.
Officers have since confirmed a man's body was recovered.
The force has said that the man's next of kin have been informed.
No details as to his identity have been released.
Neighbourhood Policing Team officers have seized suspected drugs, weapons and cash after carrying out a drugs warrant at an address in Middlesbrough.
The warrant was sought by officers due to information received regarding alleged drug dealing at the property on Borough Road, and as a result two men aged 27 and 40 and a woman aged 41 were arrested on Monday on suspicion of drugs offences.
Officers recovered a large quantity of tablets and suspected methadone, weapons including a large knife and an axe, a quantity of cash and drugs paraphernalia.

The volunteers of the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team were called into action in our area yesterday.
Yesterday afternoon the team were contacted by North Yorkshire Police to go the aid of two ladies who were stranded at Hob Hole near Castleton.
They were unable to make progress in their car due to the icy conditions.
Team members started to head to the location, where both ladies were found to be safe and well having been helped by three gentlemen passing by, who used their Land Rover to move them clear.
