...and Police are appealing for information and witnesses after a robbery in Ormesby yesterday.
A thief has made off with an unspecified amount of cash after threatening Sainsbury's staff in an armed robbery in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The incident happened at the Sainsbury's on Larkswood Road in Redcar, shortly before 7.00am.
It is alleged that a man, clad in all black, entered the convenience shop, threatened the staff members with an unidentified item and made off with cash from the till.
Following the robbery, the building was cordoned off by police whilst the incident was investigated.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.
A teenager has been arrested following an alleged drive-by shooting at the weekend.
On Sunday, police descended on Cotswold Avenue in Middlesbrough, after reports a firearm had been discharged at a house, causing damage to the window.
Cleveland Police has now confirmed a 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence following the incident.
Officers say he remains in police custody at this time.
Police are appealing for information and witnesses after a robbery in Ormesby yesterday.
THe incident occurred at the One Stop shop on Allendale Road in Ormesby at around 7:40am when a man entered the shop with a bladed weapon and demanded cash.
The suspect then left the shop with a large amount of cash.
He is described as 5 ft 5" tall, of medium build, wearing a khaki coloured cap, a purple bandana with a white pattern which was hiding his face, a grey hooded top and blue trousers.
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
