Police have confirmed that a body that was found on Tuesday night is that of a missing teenager from our area.

The RNLI lifeboat and police helicopter were both launched on Tuesday in the search to find 16-year-old Caleb Wilkinson.

Tragically, Cleveland Police has now confirmed that Caleb's body was found in the Saltburn area on Tuesday night.

Caleb's family have been informed by officers and a large number of tributes have been posted on social media.

The teenager's death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

A major plant which boosted steelmaking in its former life has been demolished on the Teesworks site.

The Pulverised Coal Injection plant, near the Redcar Blast Furnace, was brought down in an explosive demolition just after 9am yesterday morning.

The huge facility was built in 2013 and blew finely powdered coal into the centre of the blast furnace to make the steelmaking process more efficient.

It worked by reducing the amount of coke the blast furnace required.

Residents in the Saltburn and Marske area are being advised of potential problems with garden waste collections today.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council say that, due to a driver shortage,  they not be able to collect garden waste bins in these areas today.

The council are asking that residents put their bins out again tomorrow morning as they are aiming to get the garden waste bins collected then.

However, if your bin doesn't get collected, please put it again out on Saturday morning and it will be collected then.

The council have apologised to residents for any inconvenience this may cause.
