The Redcar RNLI lifeboat was launched at the weekend to assist a person who had gone into the sea.
Just after twenty past one on Saturday afternoon the Redcar D Class was launched to assist in a rescue off Majuba beach.
A person was pulled from the water by the volunteer crew.
All then returned safely to the Redcar RNLI Lifeboat Station.
The volunteers of the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team were called into action in our area at the weekend.
The team were contacted by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust regarding a walker who had been taken ill near to Captain Cook’s Monument, east of Great Ayton.
Two Team Land Rovers were sent with other members separately making their way to the rendezvous-point at Gribdale Gate carpark.
After assessment by team members the casualty was by then deemed well enough to be walked a short distance to one of the team Land Rovers and then was driven down to the carpark and into the care of the ambulance crew.
A major plant which boosted steelmaking in its former life is set to be demolished the week on the Teesworks site.
The Pulverised Coal Injection plant, near the Redcar Blast Furnace, is set to be brought down in an explosive demolition on Wednesday from 9am.
The huge facility was built in 2013 and blew finely powdered coal into the centre of the blast furnace to make the steelmaking process more efficient.
Bringing down the plant through explosive demolition has been judged to be the best solution.
Workers from local firm Thompsons have spent months cleaning the plant ready for its weather-dependent demolition on Wednesday.
