Police are appealing for information after a serious collision in Grangetown on Thursday night.

Just before 10.30pm a VW Golf was travelling along Birchington Avenue heading towards St Hilda's Church, when it was in collision with a male riding an electric bike.

The 22-year-old male rider sustained serious head injuries and was taken to James Cook University Hospital where he remains receiving treatment.

A 21-year-old man was arrested in connection with the collision, and he remains in custody

We would appeal for anyone with private CCTV and living in the Birchington Avenue area, between Trunk Road and Clynes Road to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.

A closure order has been granted after reports of disorder and antisocial behaviour at a flat in Middlesbrough.

As a result of reports of incidents from residents, officers provided evidence to the court regarding alleged drug dealing and associated crime, noise and disorder coming from large numbers of people attending the address at all times of day and night.

This led to the closure order being granted at the property for three months.

Anyone who has concerns regarding drug activity or crime and disorder in their local area, can contact Cleveland Police on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Drivers are being reminded of resurfacing work which has closed a busy junction in our area over the next two weekends.

Work on the improvements at the A171 Swan's Corner roundabout in Nunthorpe is progressing well and Esh Construction are undertaking resurfacing work this weekend and next weekend under a full road closure.

Road closures will be in place from 8am on each Saturday until 8pm on each Sunday on these dates to allow the resurfacing work to take place safely.

Signage will be in place to advise motorists of the closure and the diversion routes in place.
