Firefighters were called to a large blaze in our area after 30 tonnes of hay caught fire.

Crews attended the scene in a field to the rear of Dewberry, Coulby Newham at around 8.24pm on Tuesday and motorists were told the avoid the area.

Cleveland Fire Brigade said that three fire appliances and an off-road vehicle were used at the scene with a water bowser also in attendance.

They also confirmed that two jets and beaters were used to extinguish the flames.

 

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council have announced that a covid clinic due to take place in our area has been cancelled.

The Covid-19 vaccination clinic due to take place on Monday at The Longacre Pub in Skelton will no longer be taking place.

The council is asking residents to check its social media channels for updated information about the rearrangement of the  clinic.

 

Books of condolence remain open across Redcar and Cleveland for members of the public to pay their respects to Her Majesty the Queen.

Saltburn, Marske and New Marske Parish Council have moved their Book of Condolences has been moved to Saltburn Library, in order to make it easier for local residents to pay their respects. 

Other Books of Condolence are available throughout Redcar and Cleveland, including at Redcar Civic Centre, South Bank Library, Guisborough Town Council office, Loftus Town Hall, Skelton & Brotton Parish Council office and Lockwood Parish Council office.
