Police are appealing for information after a 14-year-old was threatened and his bike stolen during a robbery at the weekend.

The incident took place on Gresham Road in Middlesbrough on Sunday at around 18:45hrs when a male riding a small white Carrera bike approached the teenager and threatened to stab him if he did not hand over his bike.

The suspect then made off on the stolen bike, carrying the smaller white bike as he rode.

The boy was left shaken , but unhurt by the incident.

The suspect is described as a male wearing a balaclava featuring a skull design, a grey tracksuit and having acne on his face.

The stolen bike is described as a large grey Carrera.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on the non-emergency number 101.

Drivers are being warned of speed limit changes to a busy road in our area.

Stretches of Ladgate Lane, which runs from Ormesby to Acklam, were 40mph in places - however the speed limit has now been reduced to 30mph throughout.

The issue was first debated two years ago after concerns were raised over the possibility of accidents along the road, which has seen a number of new housing developments in recent years. The B1380 links Acklam Road to Ormesby and is a busy thoroughfare.

New signs have gone up along Ladgate Lane warning drivers of the change.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted and left unconscious.

The incident happened around 7:15pm on Wednesday 7th September in Mima Square in Middlesbrough, outside Teesside Crown Court.

A 34-year-old man was assaulted and his phone and rings were stolen in the incident.

The suspect is described as a white male, around 6ft 7" tall, of large build, with short, dark hair and shaven on the sides.

He was wearing a red and blue hooded jacket and dark green shorts.

He made off from the scene on a motorbike following the incident.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have further information is asked to call Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.
