Cleveland Police have issued an update following an incident involving large group of off-road bikes which were ridden around Redcar and Middlesbrough on Sunday;
A man in his 50s remains in a 'very poorly' condition in hospital after he was rescued from a flat fire;
...and the volunteers of the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team have been called into action in our area to assist an injured woman.
Cleveland Police have issued an update following an incident involving large group of off-road bikes which were ridden around Redcar and Middlesbrough on Sunday.
The team say they accept that the scenes yesterday of antisocial driving by a large group of people on off-road bikes will have been distressing for members of the public and law-abiding motorists on the road.
They said that this type of behaviour is unacceptable and will not be tolerated by Cleveland Police.
Officers responded to the many calls received however police actions must be proportionate to the situation.
Neighbourhood teams have been working to identify those suspected of being involved and seeking to establish who organised the event.
Anyone with information which could help the on-going enquiries is urged to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.
A man in his 50s remains in a 'very poorly' condition in hospital after he was rescued from a flat fire.
Emergency services were called to Clairville Road in Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon following reports that a property was on fire.
Cleveland Fire Brigade has confirmed that three fire engines attended the incident, one casualty was rescued by firefighters and then handed over to the North East Ambulance Service before being taken away to hospital.
Enquiries into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
The volunteers of the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team have been called into action in our area to assist an injured woman.
At lunchtime yesterday the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust contacted the team regarding a woman who had fallen and sustained a lower leg injury whilst walking near to the old shooting lodge below Roseberry Topping.
Team members were alerted and headed to a rendez-vous point at a nearby farm.
However, just over 10-minutes later team members managed to make contact with the casualty by phone, and were told that some friends had helped her down the paths and they were intending to take her to hospital.
One of the team's Land Rover crews met her at Newton car park where they administered pain relief and splinted her ankle before her friends took her to hospital for further checks and treatment.
