It's been announced that a national cinema operator has signed a deal to run The Regent in Redcar;

...and The Knife Angel, which is made up of 100,000 seized knives, has returned to our area.
It's been announced that a national cinema operator has signed a deal to run The Regent in Redcar.
Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council has reached an agreement with Merlin Cinemas, which runs cinemas in coastal towns across the UK.
Before an opening date can be agreed, final preparations need to take place, such as recruiting and training a team of staff including a General Manager.
The submitting and approval of an alcohol licence also needs to take place, which is ongoing, through the normal Licensing approval arrangements.
The Regent is home to three screen rooms with state-of-the-art audio-visual technology, plus a screen room and a café-bar.

Cleveland Fire Brigade confirmed they were in attendance at a fire incident on Lackenby Lane, which close to the stretch of road known as the Mad Mile, just after 8pm last night.
Roads in the area were closed and pictures from the scene showed visible flames and smoke close to the substation.

The 27ft statue, which last visited Teesside in 2019 on a month-long stay at Centre Square in Middlesbrough, was welcomed in a ceremony at Kirkleatham Museum yesterday.
Local woman Theresa Cave founded the Chris Cave Foundation back in 2005 to educate and reach out to local communities affected by violent crimes, following the tragic loss of her son Chris who was stabbed to death.
The knife angel statue will be at Kirkleatham until the end of the month.
