A woman from Guisborough has appeared in court and admitted killing her two-year old son;

...and the air ambulance landed in Grangetown yesterday as emergency services were called to reports of an incident at a private property.

 

A woman from Guisborough has appeared in court and admitted killing her two-year old son.

39-year-old Carol Hodgson pleaded guilty to murdering her toddler son Daniel in Guisborough at a short hearing at Teesside Crown Court yesterday.

Cleveland Police has now released a picture of the mum and confirmed that Daniel is her child. 

Police attended a home in Upper Garth Gardens in Guisborough on February 2nd this year, after a report of concern was made about the child.

The boy was taken to hospital but sadly died.

Hodgson was arrested two days later and charged with murder by the Sunday of that week.

She will be sentenced on July 15th.

 

A woman has been arrested over an alleged attack on an elderly resident at a Teesside care home.

Emergency services were called to the Briarwood Care Home in Eston during the early hours of Friday morning.

An elderly woman, believed to be in her 90s, had sustained serious facial injuries and was taken to James Cook University Hospital.

Cleveland Police has now confirmed that a woman, aged in her 30s, has been arrested on suspicion of assault.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

 

The air ambulance landed in Grangetown yesterday as emergency services were called to reports of an incident at a private property.

Paramedics and police officers were seen on Argyle Road off the A1085 Trunk Road in Grangetown at around 4pm yesterday.

The North East Ambulance Service confirmed they were called to the scene and dispatched two crews as well as a clinical team leader.

The Great North Air Ambulance landed on a playing field a short distance from the property at around ten past four.

Further details about the incident have not yet been released.
