Chris Hardy looks ahead to Saturday's clash with Sunderland RCA and back on last weekend's meeting with Newcastle Benfield.
By Guisborough Town manager Chris Hardy
Saturday saw us travel up North for our league encounter with Newcastle Benfield knowing full well that only a win would be good enough to get our slow start to the season back on track.
First half was a period of few chances, the best chance falling to the home side which came about from some untidy defending resulting in a awarded penalty which was converted making the half time score 0.1.
Second half saw lots of pleasing ball possession from ourselves which saw us asking questions to try and get back into the game, it was only late in the game when both subs, Hume and Jameson both found the net to secure all three points.
On reflection this was a game that saw ourselves control possession throughout most of the game, going a goal down could of lead to heads going down the play being forced, neither of the before mentioned were the case and we stuck to the task in hand and eventually got our rewards, which was very pleasing for all concerned Gtfc.
