Just hours after helping Yorkshire to the top of cricket's County Championship, double-centurion Adam Lyth chatted to Zetland FM's Andrew Snaith.

Lyth revealed his match-winning knock of 230, as part of a 300-plus partnership with Alex Lees, ISN'T his highest-ever Championship score. The opening batsman also reflected on how keen he was to avoid picking up another 0 after a first innings failure.

Yorkshire went back to the Division One summit after a crushing 271-run win over struggling Northants on Tuesday. Left-handed Lyth has been in tremendous form this summer, with Tykes skipper Andrew Gale believing the 26-year-old has more ability than the county's England trio of Joe Root, Gary Ballance and Jonny Bairstow.

Lyth is determined to keep his feet on the ground, however, and reserved his praise for new Australian international team-mate Aaron Finch.
