A man is being questioned by the police over the unexplained death of a man in his 30s in Dormanstown.
Cleveland Police said officers were called to Harton Close shortly before 3.30pm yesterday after receiving reports of the fatality.
A 31-year-old man has been arrested but police have not yet said for which offence he is being held on suspicion of.
The identity of the deceased has also not yet been released.
Officers spent a number of hours at the scene as part of the investigation.
A house on the street where residents say the investigation was focused remained boarded up yesterday.
Neighbours said two ambulances attended along with three police cars and crime scene investigators.
The volunteer crew of the Redcar RNLI lifeboat have been called into action in our area after reports of a person in the sea.
Just before 9.15 on Wednesday evening the Atlantic 85 lifeboat from Redcar was launched to assist in a rescue off Majuba Road beach in Redcar.
The crew of the lifeboat pulled a person from the water.
All then returned safely to the Redcar Lifeboat Station.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council are warning those who dump litter in our area that they are likely to face enforcement action.
The council says that enforcement officers are continuously investigating incidents of fly tipping, littering and dog fouling across our area.
In April, 15 instances of these offences from across the borough resulted in Fixed Penalty Notices being issued to the perpetrators.
Now the council is asking for the publics assistance to report these criminal offences.
The contact centre is available on 01642 774774 or you can use the Report It function online on the councils website.
