Redcar and Cleveland Council says it will adopt hybrid working for its staff permanently after a six month pilot scheme.
As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, office-based staff began working from home where it was possible for them to do so.
While employees have begun going back to council buildings, after the Government relaxed all coronavirus -related restrictions last month, a hybrid model is now in place for most allowing them to continue to work from home when it suits.
A report said flexible working had been “embraced” by the public sector and local councils in particular, whereas it was previously more associated with the private sector.
Police are appealing for information after a report of a collision in Middlesbrough.
Police received a report of a collision at around 5.25pm on Premier Road in the town.
A motorbike was involved in a collision with a 6-year-old child riding a pedal cycle and a further collision with a parked vehicle.
The 11-year-old passenger of the motorbike sustained serious injuries and is receiving hospital treatment.
The 6-year-old cyclist is also receiving hospital treatment.
A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences and was taken into police custody.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses, anyone with CCTV of the incident, or anyone who saw the motorbike in the area around this time to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.

Whilst enquiries were being carried out in Guisborough on Tuesday, neighbourhood team officers recovered a silver and black motorbike which was suspected stolen from an address in the North Yorkshire area.
It is believed the motorbike has now been returned to its owner.
