A woman has been arrested after reports from parents in Guisborough.

Police say that they are aware of discussions on social media about a driver allegedly following children who were making their way home from school in Guisborough yesterday.

A number of parents contacted police yesterday afternoon, making similar reports about the behaviour of the female driver.

Officers gave initial safeguarding advice while enquiries began, and a woman in her late 60s was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and on suspicion of a public order offence.

She remains in custody being questioned.

Officers would like to reassure parents and carers that their children and young people should attend school as usual this morning, and say that enquiries into the incident are on-going.

Police are appealing for witnesses, dash cam and CCTV footage after a report of an incident in Grangetown.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday into Sunday.

Police received a report of an altercation on Birchington Avenue at around 3am, which officers believe may have involved up to 4 people.

A man in his 30s required hospital treatment.

A 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with the reported incident. He has since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Witnesses or anyone with information or dash cam footage is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.

Police have removed another nuisance vehicle removed from the roads in our area.

Officers from Eston neighbourhood police team spotted a Vauxhall Vivaro van parked up at Flatts Lane country park on Saturday.

As it left the car park, police used blue lights and indicated it should pull over, but it then made off and was driven at speed through Eston.

The vehicle was found abandoned some 10 minutes later and seized.

Enquiries are on-going.
