Firefighters have had to free a driver from an overturned car following a crash in our area.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Flatts Lane during yesterday's morning rush-hour.

Police blocked the road just after 8.30am and asked motorists to find alternate routes for their journeys.

A Ford vehicle flipped onto its side close to Flatts Lane Country Park, and came to rest blocking both lanes of the carriageway.

Cleveland Fire Brigade sent one engine to the scene and the crew freed one person who was trapped in the car before handing them over to paramedics.

Emergency services had to close a road in Middlesbrough after a fire broke out in Middlesbrough on Wednesday afternoon.

Fire crews were called to Depot Road at around 3.54pm following reports of a roof fire at the F1 Car Centre.

Engines from Grangetown, Saltburn, and Thornaby attended and firefighters could be seen working on the roof.

Cleveland Fire Brigade confirmed that four breathing apparatus, one hose reel, one jet and aerial appliance were used.

Cleveland Police have executed a number of drug warrants and made 26 arrests as part of Operation Burford - one of the largest County Lines operations that the force has carried out in recent years, with more than 100 hundred officers involved.

Operation Burford encompasses coordinated work by the Force's Complex Exploitation Team to disrupt and dismantle County Lines exploitation by organised crime groups within Stockton. This arrest phase is the result of work which began in December 2020.

County Lines refers to organised criminals supplying drugs across local authority areas and exploiting vulnerable adults and young people to move their supply.

This large-scale operation has utilised specialist skills from across the Force from intelligence operatives to search teams.
