Police have confirmed that the body of a man was found at a popular seaside park at the weekend.

As we reported on Zetland FM yesterday, two ambulance teams were called to the Saltburn bandstand above Saltburn Valley Gardens on Sunday.

Cleveland Police confirmed the discovery of the body was made just before 7.40am.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death and a file will be passed to the coroner.

A driver has been arrested after a crash on a road in our area which left a man trapped in his car.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the A174 Brotton bypass on Sunday evening.

The crash, which involved a silver Mazda and a red Audi, happened between Skelton and Brotton just before 8pm.

The driver of the Mazda, a man in his 20s, was freed from his vehicle by firefighters.

He was taken to Middlesbrough's James Cook University Hospital where he received treatment for a broken leg.

A man aged in his 40s who was driving the Audi, was charged with drink driving and with careless driving.

He was bailed and is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates' Court at the end of March.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council are reminding residents that garden waste collection begin again next week.

From Tuesday the 15th March, residents should make sure they present their garden waste bin alongside their recycling bin.

Crews will be collecting bins from 7am, so you are asked to present your bin by then on the day of collection and bring it back in by 7pm.
