Emergency services rushed to a park on Teesside after becoming concerned for a person.

Two ambulance teams attended Saltburn Bandstand in Saltburn on Sunday morning.

The North East Ambulance Service said they received a call just before 8am raising concern for a person located in the park, just off Glenside.

Police are also reported to have been in attendance.

 

The volunteers of the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team were called into action at the weekend following a report of a walker near to Osmotherley who had sustained an ankle injury.

The casualty was on the Cleveland Way just north of Lady’s Chapel on the northern outskirts of Osmotherley.

Once the first Team members they splinted the casualty’s suspected fractured ankle and provided some pain relief before she was lifted onto a rescue stretcher, secured within a vacuum mattress and then wrapped within a casualty bag. 

The stretcher was then carried for approximately 500-metres down to a waiting ambulance at Chapel Wood Farm, before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

 

Firefighters were called to a petrol station in our area after a car fire at the weekend.

Fire engines rushed to the Shell garage on the corner of Marton Road and Ladgate Lane in Middlesbrough just before 1pm yesterday after Cleveland Fire Brigade received multiple calls about a car on fire on the forecourt.

Two fire engines, from Middlesbrough and Coulby Newham, attended the scene to tackle the blaze.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Fire Brigade said they left the scene of the incident at quarter to two.
