A driver is due in court on suspicion of driving without insurance after his car overturned on a busy Teesside road.

Emergency services, including police, fire and ambulance crews were called to Stainton Way in Coulby Newham on Thursday morning.

A white Jaguar car had left the road and crashed into a lamppost before it overturned on a grass verge just before 9am.

Two fire crews from Coulby Newham and Thornaby also attended the crash which happened close to the King's Academy entrance.

Cleveland Police confirmed no one was injured in the incident which caused long delays for motorists in the area.

Police are asking for the public's help to reunite a number of valuable items with their owner.

Officers recovered a number of items including jewellery, collectable coins and medals at an address in Loftus earlier this month.

Police are seeking information about the items and would ask anyone who believes that they recognise the items, or can provide information about them, to contact Redcar and Cleveland CID on the non-emergency number 101.

You can see photographs of the items on the Zetland FM Facebook page.

Redcar and Cleveland Council say that they are supporting Northumbrian Water as they carry out the emergency repair work on the damaged sewer pipe at Saltburn.

The council have closed the car park and put up a barrier and signage warning the public to stay away from that section of the beach.

A Council presence will be in the area throughout the weekend to support and advise the public.

The measures will be in place until the pipe is fixed and until then residents and visitors are asked to keep out of the water that runs from Skelton Beck to the sea at Saltburn.
