We are being warned of strong winds and rough sea conditions as we head into the weekend.
Storm Arwen is expected to affect North East England over the next 24 hours and is forecast to bring a period of very strong winds and cold weather to our area from later today into Saturday.
Disruption to travel and infrastructure is likely with warnings in force.
High tides and rough seas are also expected over the weekend period, and the public are being advised to take care especially near to slipways, on beaches and around exposed coastal areas such as South Gare.
In an emergency you should dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council have apologised after a number of properties in Guisborough didn't get their bins emptied yesterday.
The Waste Team were unable to get to all the garden waste collections yesterday and this has affected a small number of properties on the Galley Hill Estate of Guisborough.
Residents are reassured that there will be a refuse vehicle collecting garden waste first thing today, and residents of Galley Hill should ensure their garden waste bins are available this morning for emptying.
The covid vaccination pop-up clinic returns to Loftus today.
The team will be at the Youth and Community Centre in the town between 10am-5pm.
If you are planning on going along, you should ensure that at least 8 weeks have passed between your first and second jab.
16 and 17 year olds will only be able to get their first dose.
For boosters, you should make sure at least 6 months passed since your second dose.
12-15 year olds can also get a Pfizer vaccine if they have consent from a parent or guardian.
