A man and his dog have been rescued after a fire at a flat in Coulby Newham.
Cleveland Fire Brigade were called to the first floor flat fire at Tollesby Bridge, in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet, along with police and ambulance attended this incident."
The hallway was 30 per cent fire damaged and the landing of the staircase and front door were 100 per cent fire damaged.
There was also light smoke logging to rest of property.
Firefighters from Coulby Newham and Thornaby attended.
Police are continuing to appear for information after a reported attack on a man in Redcar.
On Thursday evening police received a report that a man was believed to have sustained an injury from a bladed weapon, in the Newcomen Terrace area of Redcar.
On arrival at the scene there was no injured man present and officers immediately carried out searches of the area.
Police are continuing to make enquiries to establish the circumstances of what happened and to locate a potential victim.
Anyone with information, or anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage is asked to call Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.
