Officers are appealing following a collision involving a black Vauxhall Astra and a child on Fabian Road, Eston, around 7:55pm on Saturday 7th August.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who may have seen the black Vauxhall Astra driving along Fabian Road around the time of the incident and would also appeal to anyone with CCTV footage or dash cam footage on Fabian Road between Church Lane and Birchington Avenue.
The child, who was riding a bike, was taken to hospital with minor injuries and was later released.

The volunteer crew of the Redcar RNLI lifeboat were called into action in our area yesterday.
Just before 1.30 yesterday afternoon the crew responded to reports of a broken down boat with two people on board off Saltburn.
The Redcar lifeboat was launched and attended to the vessel, which was towed to safety at South Gare.
The lifeboat was then able to return to the lifeboat station.
Roads policing officers have welcomed a 27-month sentence issued to a man for causing injury by dangerous driving.
27-year-old Luke O'Neill , along with a teenage pillion passenger was on a motorbike on 7th May last year and seen riding around the Middlesbrough area at an average of 40mph in 20 and 30 zones, on footpaths and on the wrong side of the road, pulling wheelies and going through red lights, putting other road users in potential danger.
At one point, Mr O'Neill - who was banned from driving and also uninsured - was doing 60 mph in a 30 zone.
He eventually collided with a car on Longlands Road whereupon he and his passenger were thrown from the bike, both sustaining very serious injuries.
The teenage pillion rider needed a lengthy stay in hospital and suffered life changing injuries.
