Fire crews have tackled a blaze at a former school building in our area at the weekend.
Plumes of thick black smoke could be seen throughout yesterday morning, coming from the derelict building near Eston Leisure Centre on Normanby Road in South Bank.
It is believed the fire was contained to the one building, which is the former Archway School, which closed in November 2019 when the school moved from the old building to the former Teesville Infants School, on Learning Lane in Teesville.
Five crews from Middlesbrough, Grangetown, Redcar, Thornaby and Saltburn attended the scene as well as the aerial platform.

Just after ten past eleven yesterday morning the Atlantic 85 lifeboat was launched to assist a boat with four people on board which was broken down half a kilometre north of the South Gare lighthouse.
The boat was towed to safety in the River Tees.
