The volunteers of the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team were called into action yesterday following a report of a woman who had sustained an injury in Errington Woods.

The team were called into action at 0715 yesterday morning after the woman contacted emergency servies to report that she had fallen in the woods near to New Marske.

Team members commenced searches of the woods. However, after around three-hours of searching the team were advised that Cleveland Police had traced the woman at her home, safe and well.

The team were then able to call off the search and leave the area.

Police are appealing for witnesses or dash cam footage of a collision on the A66, near Teesside Retail Park.

The collision happened around 9am on Wednesday on the A66 westbound, just prior to the retail park, involving a black Peugeot 207 which was travelling west along the A66 and a black Volkswagen Golf which was joining the A66 from the A19.

A collision occurred involving both vehicles, which then led to the Peugeot colliding with the central reservation.

The driver of the black Volkswagen Golf did not stop at the scene.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the Peugeot, including two young children travelling in the vehicle.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or anyone who may have dash cam footage is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.

People in the Kirkleatham area and elsewhere in the borough are being given the chance to find out more about plans being proposed for an extension and remodelling of Kirkleatham Hall School.

The school is for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and it is hoped an extra 12 pupils will be able to attend, if theplans are eventually approved.

A video detailing proposals – which include two new classrooms, a rebound therapy hall, and an extension to the main assembly hall – has been put together by the lead designers for the project is Logic Architecture.

The video can be viewed on the Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council Facebook page.
