Police are appealing for information after an attempted robbery in Eston in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The incident happened around ten past midnight at Xpresso Pizza in Eston Square.

A man attended the store on a pedal cycle and made threats with what appeared to be a firearm whilst demanding cash.

The man fled the scene empty handed and was seen heading in the direction of Eston Square towards the Foundry Public House on a pedal cycle.

The suspect is described as wearing a face mask, a black jacket, grey jogging bottoms with stripes down the legs, black gloves and black footwear.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have seen the man described in the area around the time of the incident or anyone who may have CCTV or dash cam footage which could assist the investigation to get in touch on the non-emergency number 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

A man's body has been found in a wooded area in Nunthorpe.

Emergency crews were seen in a field just off Gypsy Lane at around 6.30pm on Wednesday.

Cleveland Police confirmed yesterday that the body of a man, believed to be in his 20s, was discovered at the scene.

His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

Police are appealing for information following a suspected arson attack in Skelton.

The incident occurred on Friday 2nd April between 8pm and 9pm when a shed located at an allotment site to the rear of Bolckow Street was set on fire.

The fire destroyed the shed and a vintage MG vehicle which was inside.

The vehicle was extremely sentimental to the owner.

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with information to contact them on 101.
