The volunteers of the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team have been called into action after a body was found at a local beauty spot.

The team were called out to the incident at Lord Stones, near to Stokesley, on Tuesday evening at 7.20pm.

Officers from North Yorkshire Police had requested their help after a body was found in the area.

A total of ten members of the team responded to the call and they spent four hours working with officers at the scene.

 

Police working on the investigation into a body found in woodland at Normanby have confirmed it is being treated as "suspicious".

The body of a white man was discovered on the northern side of Flatts Lane Country Park, in Normanby, on Monday afternoon.

The discovery was made by two members of the public at around 3.25pm.

The force has now confirmed that they are treating the death as suspicious.

Formal identification of the man has not yet taken place.

 

Two men have been charged with alleged robbery in Coulby Newham. 

The charges were made following a reported robbery on the footpath along the rear of the convenience store on Thistle Rise in Coulby Newham on Saturday. 

An 18 year old man appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court on Tuesday, and a 23 year old man will appear on May 12th.
