Police are warning Redcar residents to be vigilant after a rise in bicycle thefts.

Officers say that with warmer weather and greater freedoms just around the corner, thieves are stealing bikes from outside of homes, and from sheds and garages.

Now police are advising bike owners to ensure that they keep their bikes locked and secure at all times.

You should also ensure that your bike is security marked and stored in secure premises where possible.
