There have been 107 new cases of Coronavirus across Teesside according to the latest 24 hour figures.

The highest daily rise was in Stockton, where there were 37 new infections.

Here in Redcar and Cleveland there were a further 24, whilst in Middlesbrough there have been a further 18.

The volunteer crew of the Redcar RNLI lifeboat have been called into action in our area.

Just before midday on Monday the lifeboat was launched following reports of a surfer in difficulties at Saltburn.

The Atlantic 85 lifeboat was launched from Redcar, however on arrival at the scene the crew found that the surfer had managed to return to the shore unaided.

The lifeboat was then able to return to the lifeboat station at Redcar.

Councillors have approved a three year car parking strategy for Redcar and Cleveland which will see charges introduced at a number of popular visitor destinations.

The plans, some of which are still subject to public consultation, will mean visitors having to pay to park on Saltburn’s Marine Parade.

Charges will also be introduced to park at the currently free car park in Newton under Roseberry, the stopping off point for many people wanting to climb Roseberry Topping.

Some proposals included in the strategy could be introduced by this summer.
