Another 200 people have tested positive coronavirus across Teesside and another covid-19 patient has sadly died.

The figures released by Public Health England yesterday showed Stockton had the largest rise in cases with a further 67.

And Redcar and Cleveland saw the second biggest increase with another 54 cases.

In Middlesbrough there were a further 50 cases.

A pedestrian has been injured following a collision in Loftus at the weekend.

Shortly before ten past six on Saturday evening a white Vauxhall Combo van which was travelling towards Loftus Bank, was in collision with a pedestrian on West Road in Loftus.

The pedestrian suffered a number of serious injuries requiring hospital treatment.

A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and released under investigation.

Police are appealing to anyone with private CCTV or dash cam, from during or before the incident, which may assist the investigation to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.

A woman has been taken to hospital following concerns for her welfare following an incident in Middlesbrough on Friday afternoon.

Zetland FM's Stuart Clarkson said:

"Rail lines were closed between Middlesbrough and James Cook University Hospital after emergency services were called by people concerned for the woman's safety and wellbeing.

Cleveland Police was called to the blue footpath area near Prissick in Middlesbrough at 1.40pm.

The woman was taken to the nearby James Cook University Hospital for treatment for facial and leg injuries."
