The Redcar Coastguard Rescue Team were called into action in our area on Wednesday following a report of strange lights out at sea.
At around 8.30pm, during their Wednesday training session, the Redcar team was tasked by the Humber operations room at Bridlington to reports of strange lights witnessed by fishermen just off the lighthouse at the South Gare.
On arrival the lights had drifted out to sea.
Team members talked to the first informants and informed the ops room.
However with no distress calls been made and nothing untoward been reported the team was stood down.
