Ninety one more people on Teesside have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours as Teesside prepares for a Tier 3 lockdown.

New figures, released yesterday by the Government, show there have been additional cases in all four boroughs.

The biggest increase in cases has been recorded in Stockton, where 28 people contracted covid-19.

22 more people now have the virus in Middlesbrough and 25 in Hartlepool.

The lowest increase in cases has been in Redcar and Cleveland where there were 16 new cases.

The Great North Air Ambulance landed on a school field in Marske yesterday.

The helicopter was spotted touching down outside Errington Primary School on Windy Hill Lane just after 10.30am yesterday morning after being called to a medical emergency.

The incident is not believed to be connected to the school.

It is understood that emergency services were responding to a cardiac arrest at a nearby property and a patient was taken to hospital by road.

Police have recovered suspected class A and C drugs at a property in Middlesbrough.

Officers executed a drugs warrant at a property on Garnet Street in the town yesterday, where they found suspected cocaine and zopliclone tablets.

A 35-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man were arrested on suspicion a number of drugs offences and were both taken into police custody.

Anyone who may have information regarding drugs activity in our area is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
