The highest number of daily confirmed cases of coronavirus has been recorded on Teesside.
Latest Government data shows the virus is continuing to rapidly spread in our region, with 126 new positive tests. reported yesterday.
Stockton saw an increase of 45 cases, while Middlesbrough has recorded 37 more and remains the worst affected area.
Here in Redcar and Cleveland there was an increase of 17 new confirmed cases.
Police have charged and named a man arrested in connection with a suspected arson attack on a derelict building.
49 year old Stefan Geary was detained by officers and questioned over the incident at the empty Grade II listed former community centre on Millbank Street in South Bank.
And on Monday night Cleveland Police confirmed he had been charged.
He will appear at Magistrates’ Court later today.

Yesterday morning police received a report that the blue tractor had been taken from the beach car park in Skinningrove overnight.
However a member of the public contacted to report suspicious activity of people driving a tractor up Skinningrove bank and loading it onto a trailer, and was able to provide a registration number for the trailer
Inquiries into the theft are on-going and police are appealing for anyone with information, dash cam or private CCTV footage them on the non-emergency number number, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
