A Redcar-based rogue trader has been given six-months to repay nearly £20,000 or he could be sent to jail.

66-year-old Andrew Cook, of Broadway East in Redcar, was told by a judge that a 12-month prison sentence would be imposed if he did not raise the £19,300 he took from two "innocent victims".

Teesside Crown Court heard on Thursday that Mr Cook previously pleaded guilty to being a trader and knowingly or recklessly engaging in a commercial practice, as well as misleading action containing false information.
