Emergency services have attended the foot of the cliffs in Saltburn after a man's body was found at the weekend.

Emergency services were called at around 3.25pm on Sunday afternoon to the area at the base of Huntcliff.

RNLI lifeboats and Redcar Coastguard were joined by Cleveland Police in the multi-team operation.

Crews from the North East Ambulance Service also attended the incident.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police told Zetland FM that the man's family have been informed and that the death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to the coroner.

Meanwhile two coastguard teams from our area were called into action yesterday.

At twenty to ten yesterday morning Redcar and Staithes Coastguard teams were tasked by the Humber operations room at Bridlington to assist North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust paramedics with a person with leg injuries at Hagg Farm roundabout near Skelton.

The public are reminded that if you see anyone in trouble on the beach or cliffs you should dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

Two rooms of a former Middlesbrough nightclub have been destroyed in a blaze.

Smoke was spotted coming out of the windows of the former Royal Exchange pub, which is located underneath the A66 flyover.

Two fire engines from Middlesbrough Fire Station were called to the scene just after 4.30pm yesterday.

Firefighters battled the fire for just over an hour before getting it under control.

They left the scene shortly after 6pm, after putting out the flames.
