A police investigation has been launched after the body of a man was discovered in a house in Redcar yesterday morning.

Emergency services were called to Coatham Road, Redcar, at around 6.15am.

Cleveland Police are treating the death as unexplained.

A cordon remains around the property, known as Normanby House, as investigations continue to establish the cause of death.

A stranded dolphin sparked a rescue operation on Redcar beach yesterday.

The crew from Redcar RNLI were called on Thursday morning to help rescue the creature after it got into difficulty.

The dolphin was spotted by some of the lifeboat crew members in distress at the waters edge.

Representatives from British Divers Marine Life Rescue and a vet also attended the scene and the sad decision was taken to put the dolphin to sleep.
