Police are investigating after a body was found in woodland near Lazenby yesterday.

Police vans were at the scene yesterday afternoon at the Lazenby Bank Nature Reserve, near Redcar, where a cordon was established.

The man's body was found in a patch of trees close to the A174, near the Greystones roundabout.

Officers are so far treating the death as "unexplained" and their investigations are ongoing.

Police have once again seized motorbikes that were being ridden in an antisocial manner in our area.

Two nuisance bikes were sezied yesterday morning by Neighbourhood Officers in Brotton.

The rider was found to have no insurance and no licence.

The red trials bikes were therefore seized using police powers.

Cleveland Police are warning that it may be the season of goodwill, but that criminals never take a holiday.

The Force’s crime prevention team have drawn up a 12 step plan to help residents protect their homes when going out this Christmas.

In the run up to Christmas, roadshows across the Force area will be passing out advice as well as handing out popular jingle bells that can be attached to bags or purses to deter pickpockets.

The road shows take place later today between 10-12pm at Trinity Church in North Ormesby, and between 6-8pm at Guisborough Santa Parade at Sunnyfield House.
