Police are appealing to trace the owners of suspected stolen items in the Acklam area of Middlesbrough;
Officers from the East Cleveland Neighbourhood police team have removed another nuisance motorbike from the streets;
...and a garage has had its 90-year support for the Redcar lifeboat station recognised with a certificate of thanks from the charity’s chairman.
Police are appealing to trace the owners of suspected stolen items in the Acklam area of Middlesbrough.
Detectives received a report of a break to a motor vehicle on Ullswater Avenue in Acklam at around midnight on Thursday into Friday .
A 34-year-old man was arrested close by on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle and burglary. He remains in police custody at this time.
The recovered items include camping equipment and bottles of perfume.
Officers would encourage anyone with missing items from their sheds, garages or cars in the Acklam area to contact Detective Constable Aaron Brown from Middlesbrough Operational Crime Team on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Officers from the East Cleveland Neighbourhood police team have removed another nuisance motorbike from the streets.
Yesterday members of the public informed police that a male was driving the bike dangerously on footpaths in Skelton with young children present.
The bike was located on Coniston Road and seized by the officers from the team.
A garage has had its 90-year support for the Redcar lifeboat station recognised with a certificate of thanks from the charity’s chairman.
EL Denney & Son has been based close to the town’s lifeboat station on the esplanade, Redcar, since 1928. The garage’s founder, Laurie Denney was a strong supporter of the RNLI. When his son Ian took over running garage that support continued.
Ian was presented with an engraved plaque bearing the charity’s crest and the certificate of thanks, signed by the RNLI’s chief executive, Paul Boissier, by Dave Cocks and representatives of the lifeboat crew and management team. Ian was joined by his wife Pat and son Chris, together with staff from the garage for the presentation.
