Police are investigating after a woman was allegedly raped in Redcar;

Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances in which a woman died in North Ormesby on Monday;

...and the Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland, Cllr Dennis Teasdale, is holding a civic service in Carlin How at the weekend and would like to welcome the community to the event.

 

Police are investigating after a woman was allegedly raped in Redcar.

The incident is alleged to have taken place on Westmorland Road in Redcar in the early hours of yesterday morning.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and currently remains in custody.

A cordon was been put in place whilst enquiries are ongoing, and there have also been extra police patrols in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on via 101 quoting event number 181371.

 

Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances in which a woman died in North Ormesby on Monday.

A 52 year old man and a 30 year old woman arrested by detectives investigating the death of the woman in Dorothy Street have been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

A post mortem examination took place yesterday however further examinations and tests are required.

Officers remain in North Ormesby conducting inquiries and offering a reassuring presence to residents.

 

The Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland, Cllr Dennis Teasdale, is holding a civic service in Carlin How at the weekend and would like to welcome the community to the event.

The service is taking place in Saint Helen’s Parish Churchin Carlin How.

The Mayor will be giving a reading from the Gospel according to Saint John before young classical singer Charlotte Potter will sing ‘Ave Maria’ and ‘My Heart is Like a Singing Bird’.

Also performing two songs at the Service are the Marske Fishermen’s Choir.

After the service there will be afternoon tea in the church and time to have a chat with those attending, including the Deputy Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, Major Wharton.

The service takes place this Sunday the 7th October at 3pm.
